A great day for Gardening

It was a sunny afternoon so we decided to make the most of the day and head out to the school garden. We fertilised plants, tuned the compost bins, weeded and tidied the garden shed and propagation tunnel. It was lovely to get a couple of hours in to make the place look spick and span again.

As we are an Enviro school we love learning in our environment. It is a chance to learn hands on tasks that we can use at home. Gardening is such a satisfying activity.

  1. The garden looks fantastic ruma Piwakawaka. Have you thought of what else that you mihgt like to plant? Are you going to grow some vegetables from seed? Also a lovely photos of Olivia, Xanthe and Lucy. What are the plants that are in front of you?

    1. Thank you for your positive comment Naomi. The veggies int he garden were planted by Kotuku, but we were happy to help give them some room to grow. We are looking forward to Weka and Weka Teina's contributions to the garden.

  4. Hi my name Is Junior and I go to Wesley Primary School In New Zealand. I like your Amazing garden with plants. This reminds me of digging the soil when I first started Gardening. At our School We have our own School Garden. The only time we do Gardening Is when we have Garden to table. Garden to table Is when we Split up In our groups and go to the Garden or go to the Kitchen to cook. Maybe next time you can show us a video of your school doing Gardening. I wonder what plants do you have In your School garden. From Junior
